Yad Vashem Week long Seminar in Israel (1 week)
Organised through Yad Vashem, the school, every February half term takes applications for staff to go to Jerusalem, study for a week at Yad Vashem, and engage in their Holocaust teaching program. There is minimal cost to the staff members, generally having a private room and not sharing and/or any extras. The overwhelming majority is funded and the school takes applications in first term from staff as to how they would benefit from the tour and how that would impact their teaching at Hasmonean. Nathan Heddle will send out emails asking for expressions of interest and then staff can interview to be chosen to attend.
General inset training occurs three to four times per year in September, November and January, with some options in June and/or Friday afternoon. Inset is set up by the school and is whole school based.
