We seek to appoint an outstanding individual whose job it will be to liaise with the Cover Supervisor to provide cover for classes to ensure high standards of learning and behaviour are maintained when staff are absent. You will also provide supervision of pupils during lunch break as well as covering for Student Services during lunch break and absence.

About Us

Hasmonean Multi-Academy Trust is a centre of academic excellence in North West London. The performance of the two schools in the Trust put them amongst the very top comprehensives in the country. Duties and Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POST:

To liaise with the Cover Supervisor to provide cover for classes and ensure high standards of learning and behaviour are maintained when staff are absent. You will also provide supervision of pupils during lunch break. You will be based in the Student Services/Reception office and will be required to cover during their lunch break or absence.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To take the register on Bromcom at the start of a lesson
Establish the boundaries and guidelines for class behaviour, in line with the MAT policies and procedures
To meet and greet any agency staff required to cover classes and distribute any cover work that has been set by the absent teacher
To make sure that the class fully understands what is expected of them in the lesson and the requirements of the cover work, if set
To manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment with the minimum amount of disruption
Help any pupils that have questions about the work they are expected to do in the lesson
To deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures; if necessary to call the duty teacher for further back up or help
At the end of the lesson collect any completed work if it is required to be returned to the class/subject teacher
Report back if appropriate, if familiar with Bromcom use this to post any positive or negative referrals relating to the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising and report any such feedback, if made, to the appropriate teacher

Other Duties

To provide supervision of pupils during lunch time
To be on duty in the Hall, corridors or outside as directed by Assistant Head
To ensure pupils are well behaved
To report any breaches to the Standards officer for follow up
To assist in the management of queues and movement around the school
To assist with reprographics when not covering
